Recognitions from my fellow bloggers

I’ve been putting this off for some time now.  Finally taking little break from my daily tasks and do some “blog-keeping”.  To the ones that recognized me, I apologize for such a long delay, but I want you to know you made my day and thank you for the motivation!

I received 4 recognitions from following bloggers:

  1. http://cookiemomma.wordpress.com
  2. http://serenescribe.wordpress.com
  3. http://xoevelynortizhasspoken.wordpress.com
  4. http://terry1954.wordpress.com/

I’m going to do something different with the nomination.  I will nominate a specific blog rather than a specific blogger.  If you are not familiar with any of these bloggers, please check out these specific blogs, it’s pretty awesome.

NOTE: all these good blogs are nominated for “Versatile Blogger award” or “One Lovely blogger award”

1.   http://purpleowltree.wordpress.com/2012/04/22/basic-life-story-38/

So you think you have it rough, you lost over $250k trading EBay stock, you whine about your life in these “occupy” type of gatherings, you got beat up in school, somebody stole your lunch money…Waa Waa Waa, cry me a river and go read about this blog.

2.   http://serenescribe.wordpress.com/2012/05/20/tempest-in-a-teapot/

What can you say about this selfless blogger that recently was blessed with Freshly-pressed status.  She responded to every single comment left by the mass! I know she worked countless hours/days/ and sacrificed her own health to give back to her readers.  I’m proud to be her friend and I am fortunate I get to read another freshly press worthy blog from her.

3.  http://newviewfromhere.wordpress.com/2012/05/07/pleasant-and-unpleasant-surprises/

He has a really creative line in here that goes something like this, “drive by” (shooting up prayers for him as I drove by the house),..”  That is T-shirt and bumper sticker worthy statement!  He better copyright this and start making some bumper stickers.

4.   http://christiepepper.com/2012/05/24/firearms-qualifications/

Don’t be messin’ with this ranger momma!  An officer that loves her Glock, Blizz-con/Comic-con nerd, history buff, and a cooking genius.  Oh and her latest published article about a nostalgic music store.  http://www.povhouma.com/Articles/2012/05/lv_01_0512.html

5.  http://terry1954.wordpress.com/2012/05/19/these-four-walls/

It is a beautiful blog about a handicapped brother and his loving sister.  If you like reading about selfless act, sacrifice, and overcoming tough obstacles you should check this out.

6.  http://djterbo.wordpress.com/2010/02/05/abba-%e2%99%a5/

Blog site about Abba, Fedor, Mike Tyson & the Axe murderer….nuff said!

7.   http://heartofamothersprayers.wordpress.com/2012/05/12/the-greatest-lesson-learned-in-motherhood/

Best Mother’s day blog for 2012.  Thanks Stephanie

8.   http://fela2fela.wordpress.com/2012/04/04/553/

This one hit close to home because it brought out my engagement memory that I forgot about.

9.  http://lomaxbike.com/2012/06/10/who-do-you-rate-as-this-years-best-team-in-the-tour-de-france-2012/

Tour de France is less than 3weeks away and this is where you get your cycling updates!! The tour is only 1 of 2 sports I follow and it’s always a treat to see them come around once a year like.

10.   http://mylifeworthliving.com/2012/05/18/day-sixteen-30-day-challenge-about-myself/

“Life is like a box of chocolate, you never know what you are going to get.”

11.   http://turkischland.wordpress.com/2012/06/07/fotos-fromturkeywithlove/

Very cool photo blogger who shows lots of passion for his hobby.  Lots of pictures you don’t see every day, about another country.

12.   http://xoevelynortizhasspoken.wordpress.com/2012/05/02/racing-through-life-slow-down/

Normally she is a happy & energetic person, but I think she was feeling little down on this particular day.  I was very sad to learn of her health condition at such young age of 21.  But at the end of the day, I know she will keep on truckin’ along and get that dream Dodge of her’s 🙂

13.   http://blog.dianehenders.com/2012/05/09/beautiful-sunshiny-versatile-and-lazy/

Cool picture of 6’4” biker lady, on heels, with even cooler fanny pack (bum pack if you are Brit) to match!

14.   http://durtonthebible.wordpress.com/2012/05/17/standing-in-hope/

What is your option when you miss church on Sunday? Very easy, you check out Sean’s blog

15.   http://www.photobotos.com/freshly-squeeze-sarah-ann-wright/

16.   http://liferevelation.wordpress.com/2012/05/13/virtue-2-accountability/

Powerful inspirational writer.  Here he talks about a topic on accountability and it’s perfectly done with a really good lead in.  What can you say about a guy that’s signs off with “Be encouraged!”

17.   http://yibeichen.wordpress.com/2012/04/12/stay-at-home-dad/

Another nostalgic topic, this time about my magical year as a stay-home-dad.  I guess retirement will come before I get that opportunity again.

18.   http://lifeinthedashlane.wordpress.com/aboutme/

I will man up and just say it, I was wrong, I was wrong, I was wrong.   A lady leaves her husband who has passion for bridges…what man doesn’t like bridges? I assumed one way because her ex reminds me of me and my buddies, but I was completely wrong.  She is a brave lady and I feel like an ass 😦

Some random things about me

  1.  I’m a big fan of MMA, just wish it was on regular free TV for all the major matches.
  2. I have a secret collection of McDonald’s Beanie baby collection, sealed in original case.  It was PURELY for future investment purpose!
  3. My wife and I LOVE playing Rock Band in the basement when kids are sleeping
  4. I would love to have a daughter, but a fear of ending up with 3 boys is just unthinkable.
  5. Favorite beer is Miller Genuine draft….its Miller time, really, right now 🙂
  6. Favorite food is spaghetti with meatballs, not the one giant meatball kind but about 5 or so smaller meatball kind, and LOTS of garlic.
  7. My ultimate dream cars are Volvo c303(urban assult vehicle) and Factory 5 GTM(Ferrari killer).  Almost had the Volvo within grasp until my wife threatened to leave me with both our children 😦

Chris, firstly, thanks for the nomination. I’m honoured. Secondly, you have no need to feel like an ass. Your impression was based only on what you read on my blog. As you now know, there were certain things I chose not to discuss so openly.
Don’t kick yourself any further young man. No need to.

    • June 11, 2012 at 10:42 am

man, I really did get fired up for a bit, didn’t I. Felt as if I needed to defend one of “our own”…lol. Little did I know, he was anything but one of our own. I appreciate all the great communication since then, and I am not kicking myself anymore 🙂 Thank goodness you are a patient and understanding person. Thanks for visiting here and I’m looking forward to more future exchanges 🙂

      • June 11, 2012 at 11:29 am

            • June 12, 2012 at 8:00 pm

You sound like a certain political figure that I know 🙂

              • June 12, 2012 at 8:11 pm

Oh my! Political figure? LOL Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

                • June 12, 2012 at 8:16 pm

controversial but a strong powerful lady. I guess there is a similarity there, so I guess its a good tihng 🙂

                  • June 13, 2012 at 8:58 am

                    Um….wow….. 🙂

                    • June 13, 2012 at 3:54 pm

Actually, I’m speechless. Not sure what to say….LOL Still trying to figure out who I might be resembling

                    • June 13, 2012 at 8:16 pm

I think that would be a great topic of discussion on your home terf 🙂

  2. June 11, 2012 at 8:00 am

  3. June 11, 2012 at 9:14 am

Thank you very much for the nod and the link! I am enjoying meeting new bloggers from your nominations.

    • June 11, 2012 at 10:49 am

Thanks for stopping by Sean. I’m just really curious though. Do you get higher traffic, on your website, on a Sunday more so than any other day? Just wondering how many other people miss church on Sunday and automatically swing by your website as a plan “B”

      • June 11, 2012 at 1:20 pm

I haven’t seen any particular day-based trends. I certainly would not encourage a read of my blog instead of being in worship with God’s people. There is no equivalence. (See Hebrews 10:25.) However, I am taking your comments as a compliment.

        • June 11, 2012 at 2:04 pm

Oh, I know Sean, my pastor reminds me of that quite often…lol.

      • June 13, 2012 at 11:03 pm

Plan B? Miss church? LOL Nice one Chris! You crack me up!

        • June 13, 2012 at 11:08 pm

oh, come on, you know it happens to lot of people…lol.

          • June 13, 2012 at 11:14 pm

I refuse to comment on the grounds it may incriminate me… LOL

            • June 13, 2012 at 11:17 pm

uh huh, yeah, lets just say, “it takes one to know one”…lol

              • June 13, 2012 at 11:20 pm

Just for that I’m dedicating my “Inspirational Sunday” post to you…..LOL

                • June 13, 2012 at 11:30 pm

I knew all this lengthy conversation was going to lead to something fruitful 🙂

                  • June 14, 2012 at 7:26 am

I see how it is now Chris…..I got your ticket 😉

                    • June 14, 2012 at 9:47 am

lol, thanks for starting my morning off with a laugh 🙂

                    • June 14, 2012 at 3:40 pm

                      Anytime. 🙂

                  • June 14, 2012 at 9:04 am

So, you want me to write a guest blog about why you should be in church? 😉

                    • June 14, 2012 at 10:28 am

Sean, I think that would be a great idea! Although I’m warning you, quality of that blog may affect your blog traffic for Sundays.

  4. June 11, 2012 at 10:48 am

    thanks man!!!

    • June 11, 2012 at 10:55 am

Anytime, you have a great blogsite.

  5. June 11, 2012 at 12:51 pm

Hey, Chris, thanks for the mention! So nice of you to refer to me as a “lady” – that’s one thing I don’t get called very often (can’t imagine why). 🙂

    • June 11, 2012 at 2:01 pm

lol, sounds like its something worth blogging about. Thanks for stopping by.

Haha! Love your description of me! I was starting to think something happened to you. You went AWOL for a bit. Hope all is well

    • June 12, 2012 at 9:58 pm

Heck, I was actually worried for myself…lol. The county regulators, contractors, city engineers are driving me crazy with my new house project. I’ve been going to sleep at 1am everyday since my home project started 😦

      • cookiemomma
        June 12, 2012 at 10:00 pm

Well thats not good, not good at all! Get some rest and best of luck with the rest of your house construction!

        • June 12, 2012 at 10:09 pm

I’m definitely trying. I even purhcased one of those night time sleep aids, as seen on TV, and its not working out either…surprise, surprise…lol. I still owe my family a real family vacation on top of all this. I have a feeling I’ll have another blog called “bad father/husband” coming up in few days…lol.

            June 12, 2012 at 10:17 pm

Nah! take the melatonin, it works wonders and you dont wake up feeling all “cagoo”. Visit Destin, we will be there the last week of June. The kids love it! lol 🙂

  7. June 13, 2012 at 10:27 am

Thanks so much Chris!! I don’t know if I’ve told you how much appreciated your insight into the stay at home dad life. Some of my stubborn male friends think that being a stay at home parent is boring and non-fulfilling. Yet it’s hard for me to explain how they could be wrong since I don’t come from the same perspective. It’s great to now have a male perspective that shows a different side of fatherhood.

Also, how come your wife is so against you having a Volvo? I wonder if it’s like my mom with my dad when he wants to get a new Canon SLR. “$5000 FOR CAMERA??? YOU ALREADY HAVE CAMERA.” “But I want higher ISO settings” “IF YOU GET IT WE DIVORCE AND I TAKE BETTY.”

    • June 13, 2012 at 2:01 pm

you are very welcome and I always enjoy reading your well researched and well written blogs as well. Fatherhood is rough, its not easy keeping the “Mrs.” happy and content all the time…lol.
I have no idea why my wife was so against having the Volvo. It was a significant incident because that was the one and only time she ever threatened to leave me like that. Luckily somebody outbid me, but it could have gotten pretty ugly. Your dad’s camera incident sounds about right…lol. FYI, here is a picture of the volvo, isn’t it a beaut?

      • June 13, 2012 at 6:50 pm

oooOoo. How much was it going for? I kinda want it for myself. 😛

        • June 13, 2012 at 8:07 pm

It was 1973 volvo c303, and it sold for $17k(rust free). You get the portal axles, dual independent lockers, zero electronica options, about 16″ of TRUE ground clearance, all for under $17k! can you believe that? I may need you to contact the “Mrs” and talk some sense into her! My plan is to let this cool down a little bit and bring it up again…lol

        • June 13, 2012 at 8:07 pm

You would be the coolest kid in town if you had one of these 🙂

        • June 13, 2012 at 8:24 pm

I think that just became top contender for my first car!

          • June 13, 2012 at 10:26 pm

If you ever want to see a grown man cry, you just post a picture of yourself inside that truck…lol
Could you imagine if all hell did break loose in our society, and you are a proud owner of this doomsday vehicle?…lol.
I have officially entered my fantasy mode…lol.

  8. June 13, 2012 at 4:01 pm

Thanks for the nomination Chris – appreciated! Keep up the good work on yours:-)

    • June 13, 2012 at 4:15 pm

no, thank you for keeping us informed about the cycling world. 3 weeks and counting!!! My fingers are getting all tingly…lol

      • June 13, 2012 at 4:24 pm

exciting stuff. Got my eye on Wiggins!

        • June 13, 2012 at 5:35 pm

nice! Wiggins is another one of those outstanding guys who is 100% clean. My guy is still Andy. As Bob Roll would say, “Andy needs to dig deep and pull out something special for this time trial…” lol

      • June 13, 2012 at 4:24 pm

exciting stuff. Got my eye on Wiggins!
        …and Cavendish of course!

        • June 13, 2012 at 5:37 pm

oh come on! Cavendish is a given/automatic/slam dunk/etc…lol. Its more question of how many stages he will win this year…lol. Its perfect riding weather right now, so I’m off on my Leopard.

  9. June 13, 2012 at 4:03 pm

PS – if you want to take part in the Bike Of The Week feature – I’d love it:-)

    • June 13, 2012 at 4:14 pm

you bet, I’m definitely going to participate in that. I may not have a Ferrari, but I sure have a Ferrari of a bicycle..lol.

      • June 13, 2012 at 4:23 pm

Ha ha – nice. Cheers Chris I look forward to it. Just a few bits about you. A few lines on the bike, a spec list and a couple of photos?

Maybe a mention on your best ride / race – to be honest anything goes I’m just glad you’ll take part:-)

Hhahahaa! No end to your joy of controversy, my friend and number one fan! 🙂 Haha! You make e smile. Never actually thought of our lives like you put it here. This is “normal” to us. haha. This actually answers why we’ve been getting random newbies checking out our Blog lately. Thank you so much for the award(s). 🙂 So kind of you. I’ve got some awards I haven’t dealt with yet too, everything else has just been a bit more in our faces, I suppose. Soon, soon, I keep telling myself. ha! I do like the Lovely blog award’s image. 🙂
Thank you for being a full cheering and controversial challenging squad in your own right. You spread joy around while keeping it real. 🙂 Love from Rach (a huge fan of your own)

    • June 26, 2012 at 6:30 pm

lol, you have no idea how much joy & relief I feel whenever you post something or leave a comment. Your life and and your strength is inspiration to us all 🙂 Its normal to you but its something unthinkable to the rest of us.
