**punk!**Larry J. of Reisterstown, MD won the mega millions jackpot in Maryland.

**updated 4/10/2012**

Unfreakin believable!!  His email caused alot of hysteria because they all thought he would never joke around with anything like this.  Here are some of the things that happened to him as a result.

1.  Lost handful of facebook friends

2.  His boss acutally rode his bike out to his house to “rub elbow” with Larry.  I thought this was pretty funny that his boss, all of a sudden, wants to be buddy/buddy with him…lol.  I’m sure Larry won’t be getting his promotion anytime soon.

3.  He devastated a very close friend of his wife.  I didn’t know Larry emailed his wife’s friends, too.  This one is rather sad becasue her family is going through some rough fincial turmoil right now 😦

4.  He is officially off my Christmas card distribution list for this year.

=================================================================

Normally I can care less about who won lottery this and that, but how often do you get email saying your best friend just won the biggest lottery jackpot in history?  One of my best friends, Larry, sent out an email several days back telling us he is the winner of the recent mega million jackpot.  I want to post his email here, but I want to keep this blog short.  I emailed him back wished him well, and that he needs to pay for lunch next time.

Having said all that, here are my reasons why I think he really won:

  1.  He and I are lunch buddies, we eat out every day and I haven’t heard anything from him all this week.
  2. We are also coffee buddies during weekdays.  Haven’t heard anything all week
  3. We talk almost every day on our way home from work.  Haven’t heard anything all week.
  4. He is one of the deacons at his church, a very reputable guy in his community.
  5. He is also the condo association president.  Again it makes him a very reputable guy in his community
  6. We typically talk to each other at least once over any given weekend.  I haven’t heard anything from him.
  7. He just is not a prankster kind of guy.

It’s already Thursday and I haven’t heard ANYTHING from him.  I know he is not sick or at home, because he always emails me so I know when to bring lunch.  Like I said, I haven’t heard a peep from him all week.

Now, here is a reason why I don’t think he won the lottery.

  1.  He sent out the email on Sunday, April 1.

If he did win the lottery, we are expected to go to 2012 Tour de France, without wife and kids…lol.  As of right now nobody has come forward with the winning ticket, and it’s almost lunchtime here and I still haven’t gotten anything from Larry.  If this is some sort of a big joke, 7 days is long enough, don’t you think?  Anyway, if he did win, you heard it here first.  If he did lie about this…

Your poll question makes me laugh. Even though I think your buddy won the lottery, I just want to click on the tarr and feather option in the poll

this is one of those situations where I’ll be shocked either way. I just cannot believe he would prank about this kind of thing, I’m sure I’ll find out soon enough. Guess its another Subway-to-go lunch for me today

    • April 5, 2012 at 2:59 pm

lol, if Larry wins, it couldn’t have happened to a better family. I heard that lady is banned from going into that mcdonald.

  3. April 5, 2012 at 3:39 pm

LOL…she’s banned from going in? But isn’t her ticket “hidden” in there? 🙂

How awesome would it be to know a guy who scored the jackpot?!? Especially someone you’re so close to.

If he gets around to starting a charity fund, let me know. I’ve got some seriously good ideas for charity work with at-risk students. The ideas are great, they just aren’t funded..lol.

Gave you a mention or two in my most recent post, so go check it out when you have a moment.

Yeah, that Mcdonald lady situation is so twisted. I really wish Larry would just come forward to claim his money..lol. But seriously its just really odd I haven’t heard anything from him since the lottery drawing.

I will definitely tell him of your charity fund idea. I have read your blogs and I have no doubt you got some very ideas.

I was gonna go over to your site and check out my favorite blog anyway. How is the angry mob coming along? lol

    • April 10, 2012 at 1:02 am

Well as you know, the “angry mob” finally persuaded me to “fess up”! 🙂 I was a bit surprised to see you standing out there with a pitchfork….how did you even carry that thing on your bike?!?

      • April 10, 2012 at 10:23 am

when a pitchfork is made of high modulus carbon fiber, it rides very well with my bicycle..lol. I still read every new comment that comes through your blog, people have some creative and funny one-liners there 🙂

        • April 10, 2012 at 12:01 pm

lol….dude, you’re pretty funny yourself….especially when you start talking about pitchforks made of carbon fiber 🙂

Always good to know people enjoy the blog and comments left there! Really enjoy yours as well.

Given my occupation, I would hope that someone has done a welfare check on him. Your story is the exact same kind of story that people give when a friend hasn’t been heard from in a while and that is just scary, b/c the outcomes are rarely good. I hope all is well with him and of course I hope that he did win it. Someone did and he sounds deserving, so hey why not. On another note….check my blog I baked some A-MA-ZING cupcakes!! 🙂

    • April 5, 2012 at 9:09 pm

I would be devasted if something terrible did happen to him. I’ll probably check with his boss tomorrow. Thanks for giving me a different persepective, officer cookiemomma.
And if he did win, and I got little more than a McCafe and #2 Hibachi chicken combo, I’m sending you and your family a dozen Georgetown cupcakes, so you would be motivated to make your millions that way..lol
I will definitely head on out your way to check up on those cupcakes 🙂

He seems like a really charitable person. I hope he really won it. Please let me know if you think he would be interested in helping out with a local charity (edited)

    • April 6, 2012 at 8:52 pm

I’m only his friend and I have no control over what he decides to do with his money. I’m sorry I had to edit part of your comment because I don’t want to use my blog to plug certain organization or a group from somebody I don’t know. I hope you understand and thanks for stopping by. I will update this blog as soon as I hear something back.

  7. April 6, 2012 at 11:02 pm

Had me going there for a minute!

    • April 6, 2012 at 11:26 pm

I’m ready to kill him. Our two other friends haven’t heard anything back either.

      • April 7, 2012 at 9:30 am

Yeah! And hey, winning the lottery doesn’t mean you can’t return a freaking phone call… Who does this guy think he is lol ‘ )

  8. April 10, 2012 at 1:03 am

So any news yet? There’s some real suspense now since you haven’t heard from him in so long….

    • April 10, 2012 at 10:18 am

Lets just say he is off my Christmas card distribution list. I need to update this blog to reflect the change, as soon as I’m done with my taxes.

    Re: your update on 4/10….

I’ve heard of the “curse” from WINNING the lottery, but this is the first I’ve heard of losing things “near and dear” for *pretending* to win the lottery!

It must be something in the Chesapeake Bay causing all these good folks in MD to pretend to win 🙂

    • April 11, 2012 at 8:43 pm

He is still dealing with all the backlash from this incident..lol.

Wow. I guess… he was bored and didn’t think much? Are you still having lunches and coffees with him? Did he explain? Did he think this was funny? I’m sorry to hear about his wife’s friend. 😦
What would you do if you won a freaking ginormous jackpot? Seriously.
    Rach.

  11. May 8, 2012 at 2:10 pm

Yes, we still have lunch together, and he is a character! He still feels there is something wrong with other people for being too gullible. Lucky for him, he is married to the nicest, forgiving wife on the planet. Any other woman would have have thrown his sorry butt out of the house…lol
What would I do with the giant jackpot? hmmm, it would have to on something that can affect as many people as possible, using my skill and talents…it would to be a brand new car company. It would be a true “green” car company. That is exactly what I would do.
